Opened in December 2004, the Millau Viaduc spans the Tarn River valley near Millau. 2,460 meters (8,071 feet) long the road deck is 270 meters (886 feet) above the river.

The Rio-Antirrio bridge spans the Gulf of Corinth linking Peloponnese with mainland Greece. Officially known as the Charilaos Trikoupis bridge, it has the second longest cable-stayed deck (only the Le Viaduc de Millau is longer).

The Oresund bridge spans the Oresund Strait connecting Malmo, Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark. Opened in July 2000, the bridge actually ends in the middle of the strait, a tunnel completes the connection to Copenhagen.
