Officially called First Narrows Bridge, the Lion's Gate Bridge spans Burrard Inlet linking Vancouver, BC with North Vancouver, BC.

The Golden Gate bridge spans the Golden Gate strait, connecting the city of San Francisco to Marin County. Construction of the bridge began in 1933 and was completed in 1937 at a cost of $903 million. At the time of it's completion it was the largest suspension bridge span in the world. It remains the second largest suspension bridge span in the United States.

Capilano Suspension Bridge spans the Capilano River in North Vancouver. Opened in 1888, the bridge was originally made of hemp, it was replaced with wire cable in 1903. 136 metres long, the bridge is suspended 70 metres above the river.

The Tower bridge spans the river Thames linking the London boroughs Tower Hamlets and Southwark. The bridge, a combination bascule and suspension bridge, opened in 1894.

5,989 feet (1825 meters) long, the Brooklyn bridge spans the East River connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. Opened in May 1883, the Brooklyn bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States.

The Tsing Ma bridge spans the Ma Wan channel connecting the islands of Ma Wan and Tsing Yi islands. The bridge opened in April 1997. It is the longest suspension bridge that carries both road and rail traffic.
